As the summer was winding to a close and the calendar began to open up, Mad Box designer and animator Charles Bevan rounded up the entire Mad Box team and took a morning field trip out to the woods to create his vision of garden tree faces re-enacting a classic movie scene. With David Muessig behind the lens and Charles' creative direction, we captured a shot by shot remake of Quentin Tarintino's classic "Reservoir Dogs". Only instead of actors we had a group of trees, some motion tracking, HDRI reference props, a box of Dunkin Donuts and coffee. After that, Rick Plautz led the charge with the 3D modeling to give each tree the distinctive actor qualities.
